World`s First Baby Born From Genetic-Screening

This latest findings will certainly give a better and bigger hope for couples who crave to have their own perfect healthy baby in their home. Why???

Because on May 18, 2013, Connor Levy - the world`s first baby born from a program that utilizes In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) and Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technology has been successfully born!!!

The use of IVF and NGS technology involves fertilization outside of the reproductive system, also includes a genetic analysis to determine a healthy embryo.

The process in designing Connor was started with a standard procedure until the fertilization process. From the IVF procedure, 13 embryos have been produced.

Doctors then grow the embryos for five days, take some cells and sent the embryos to University of Oxford for chromosome analysis. The analysis showed, although many healthy embryos, but only 3 embryos that have the right number of chromosomes.

The embryos were then selected, while others are placed in cold storage. Nine months later, the selected embryo has become a perfect healthy baby.

Inspiring you enough???
